Nu Jazz Video is a multi-format video label that produces broadcast quality video recordings of newly discovered and internationally known jazz stars. The first jazz video label of its kind, Nu Jazz Video releases all products exclusively for digital download. A sister company of Nu Jazz Records, it provides a visual component to all of the audio recordings under the Nu Jazz Entertainment umbrella.
Our multi-camera, High Definition video recordings provide a unique perspective on upcoming artists and jazz legends alike. Every album recorded is simultaneous recorded for video, both in live concert settings and live venues, providing a glimpse of the artists’ unique energy that a studio recording often lacks.
Whether it be a trio, quartet, or larger ensemble our video will show not only the raw energy, but passion of the artist on their search for clear musical expression. Geoff Clapp was born in Greensboro, NC, and discovered his love of the drums at the age of four. He went on to attend the University of New Orleans, as a jazz performance under the auspices of the legendary pianist and musical educator Ellis Marsalis. There his love for the music was completed while performing in combos and bands with such musical comrades as Nicholas Payton, Greg Tardy, Mark Turner, Delfeayo Marsalis, and a host of others. Geoff went on to tour with Ellis Marsalis in his trio, and to perform with Donald Harrison, Terrence Blanchard, and Wynton Marsalis to name but a few. Watch Video |

Jason Marshall was born and raised in Silver Spring, MD, where he hailed from a musically talented family. Discovering jazz at an early age through the musical collection of his parents, he started out playing alto, and subsequently switched to tenor. His formal music training culminated in 2006 with a degree in Jazz Performance from the world famous New School in NYC. Jason’s musical prowess has led him to be a much sought after sideman having performed with Destiny’s Child, The Temptations, The Mingus Big Band, and The Duke Ellington Orchestra, as well as countless others. Jimmy Greene was born in Hartford, CT. He developed a love for the saxophone at an early age, and that talent led him to many awards including All-State, Berklee College of Music Outstanding Soloist, and the 1993 Grammy All-American High School Band. In 1996 he was named first runner up in the prestigious Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Saxophone Competition. Since then Greene has performed with Horace Silver, Harry Connick, Freddie Hubbard, Tom Harrell, Steve Turre, and the Carnegie Hall Jazz Band, to name just a few. Watch Video |

Walter Blanding was born in Cleveland, Ohio to a musical family, and began playing the saxophone at the age of six. In the early 80’s his family moved to New York City, and by the age of 15 he was performing regularly with his parents at the legendary Village Gate. In 1991 he was a featured performer on the critically acclaimed Tough Young Tenors, heralded by the New York Times as one of the best albums of the year. Since that time in addition to performing with Roy Hargrove, Marcus Roberts, and the Count Basie Orchestra, Walter is currently a member of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and Wynton Marsalis Quintet.
